We know that it can be tough packing up and arriving in a new country. It's your first day at school all over again. You need to find new classrooms, new housing and new friends!!
Well at the University of Sydney we'd like to make it a whole lot easier for you. Our two-day Orientation Escape lets you mingle and meet other students on the Study Abroad and Exchange program.
We start our trip with you coming face to face with all types of cuddly and not so cuddly critters at the Australian Reptile Park, as you do everything at our animal experience from patting koalas to feeding kangaroos. We then head through one of Australia's premier wine regions 'the Hunter Valley' We visit two wineries as well as being taught the finer points of wine tasting by a wine connoisseur. Then we finish the tastings off with a local Australian beer brewery all whilst drinking in some of the most beautiful countryside in Australia.
At night kick back and relax at our accommodation, we'll be staying in the Port Stephens area so it's nice and close to the activities tomorrow.
Today we'll be visiting the beautiful Port Stephens, about 3 hours north of Sydney, where the beaches are beautiful, the water clear, and the waves ideal. Port Stephens is world famous for its natural beauty and Dolphin watching. We jump aboard a dolphin watching cruise and try and get up close with our aquatic friends. In the afternoon grab your board and head to the sand dunes. Our 4 wheel drive shuttle will take us on an adventure to the sand dunes which rise over 35 meters above sea level. We'll be Sand boarding down the 30-50 meter high dunes for a few hours...
This trip is designed for you to meet new people, create new support networks and get ready for life at the University of Sydney. This will be the most amazing semester of University in your life!
